2015 Headlines from Cambridge Journals
Seamless transition to Cambridge
– Cambridge Journals began publishing Management and Organization Review (MOR) from January 2015
– Everyone at Cambridge has been delighted to work on this young, dynamic journal that is genuinely trying to shape its field and led by an editorial team that is proactive and wholly committed to supporting scholars in the field as well as the journal’s success
– Close work with MOR’s incredibly efficient editorial team headed by Arie Lewin and Tina Minchella has ensured a very smooth transition
Highest quality online and print publication
– First two 2015 issues published very close to schedule which is a great achievement for a transitioning journal
– A further four articles have published on FirstView
– The full MOR archive is now available on Cambridge Journals Online (CJO)
– All articles available online in PDF, HTML, ePUB and Kindle format to cater for the many ways scholars access research. Print is also available as an option for IACMR members, for authors and for marketing purposes
– IACMR members now access MOR content in one easy step through their IACMR log-in
Content expansion
– A new tagline has been created and widely communicated by Cambridge to publicise the journal’s expanded focus on emerging markets:
“The leading voice on management and organization research in China and other emerging economies”
– MOR has expanded from three to four issues in 2015 to respond to the increased number of high quality submissions received
– MOR’s page extent per issue will increase from 200pp to 216pp per issue from 2016
– New ‘Dialogue, Debate, and Discussion’ section launched in the second issue of 2015
Wide global access to MOR
– MOR currently has 22 traditional institutional subscribers, 14 consortia migrations (previously traditional subscribers) and 1,823 additional consortia institutions. We are still in the process of renewing subscribers and expect numbers to continue to increase
– 21,788 downloads of MOR articles on CJO between January and June 2015
– Three downloaded MOR papers on CJO between January and June 2015 were:

Creative marketing
– New MOR branding created and used consistently throughout Cambridge marketing
– Branded flyers, posters and notepads created
– Excellent response rate to emails promoting first issue with 1,288 recipients and an average open rate of 36% (industry standard 20%) and click-thru rate of 9.57% (standard 2-3%)
A brand new social media presence
– MOR is now active on social media with Sheen Levine appointed to work closely with Cambridge on a social media strategy. Please follow @MORjourna and retweet
– Lots of activity on Twitter and Facebook responding to MOR posts
– Interviews with MOR Founding Editor-in-Chief Anne Tsui and current Editor-in-Chief Arie Lewin posted on the Cambridge Journals blog and further blog activity coming in August
– Cambridge publishes an Altmetric score next to each MOR article measuring social media and news site attention. The top three scoring MOR Altmetric are:
Excellent rankings
– MOR achieved a strong Impact Factor of 2.442 and was placed 32 of 185 management journals in the 2014 Journal Citation Report published June 2015
– MOR received a ‘3’ rating in its first Association of Business Schools (ABS) ranking (with only one journal in its category obtaining the highest 4* rating, and one receiving a 4)
– Five MOR papers have been selected as ‘Emerald Citations of Excellence’ winners

– The publication of a series of special online themed collections of MOR articles to promote increased usage of the whole MOR archive
– Cambridge will launch its new online platform Cambridge Core in Spring 2016 giving MOR an even more sophisticated online presence with an improved user experience
– Now that MOR is embedded in Cambridge systems our key objectives will be increasing MOR’s profile, circulation, usage, citations and aiding editorial initiatives
