岭南大学管理学院招聘启事

 

Lingnan University, a distinctive liberal arts institution in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, is committed to the provision of quality whole-person education informed by the best of Chinese and Western liberal arts traditions.  It strives to pursue excellence in teaching, learning, scholarship and community engagement.  With three academic Faculties, it offers a wide range of undergraduate degree programmes in arts, business and social sciences.  These programmes are distinguished by the following attributes: disciplinary, inter-disciplinary and pre-professional studies that are based on a broad liberal arts foundation; rich co-curricular and extra-curricular activities; ample global learning opportunities; active community engagement and multifarious workplace experience.  It also offers postgraduate programmes up to the doctoral level.  Applications are now invited for the following post, which will be tenable from mid-August 2016 or by mutual agreement:

 

Department of Management
Professor/AssociateProfessor / Assistant Professor

The Department (http://www.ln.edu.hk/mgt) is one of the constituent departments that contribute to the undergraduate programme of Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) degree. The Department offers a variety of courses in Management and aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and qualifications to meet the needs of a thriving business centre like Hong Kong.


General Requirements
Candidates should have a PhD degree in the relevant discipline.  For appointment as Professor, candidates should have demonstrated record of leadership in research and significant scholarly activities, substantial research and teaching experience with significant scholarly publications in leading journals and academic achievements.  For appointment as Associate Professor, candidates should have at least five years of relevant experience and a strong track record in research and scholarly activities.  For appointment as Assistant Professor, candidates should have relevant teaching experience, a good research record and must demonstrate good potential in publishing high quality papers.The appointee will be expected to teach courses in areas of strategic management, human resource management or organizational behavior.

 

Lingnan University is fully committed to the pursuit of excellence in both teaching and research.  The appointee should demonstrate commitment to teaching and research excellence.  Candidates are required to provide information on their work experience, qualifications, research records and evidence of quality teaching. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential. The successful appointee is expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and services to the Department, the University community, and to engage actively in quality research and publication. Administrative experience will be an advantage.


Appointment
The conditions of appointment will be competitive. The rank and remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity, housing benefits and incoming passage and baggage allowance for the eligible appointee.

Appointments will normally be made on an initial contract of three years, which, subject to review and mutual agreement, may normally lead to longer-term appointments with possibility of consideration for substantiation. For appointment at the rank of Professor, appointment with substantiation will normally be considered.
