2015 IACMR Research Methods Workshop Report
2015 IACMR Research Methods Workshop is successfully held in Tianjin from July 12 to 16. College of Management and Economics, Tianjin University co-organized this workshop.

There were 135 participants from 53 Universities/Affiliations in Mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, and Australia attending workshop this year. 34 of them were faculties and 101 were students. All participants were divided into 14 discussion groups and each group was led by one faculty advisor. Faculty gave 16 lectures on key methods topics such as measurement, qualitative research, survey research, etc. Participants also discussed their research proposals in small group sessions led by faculty.

2016 IACMR Hangzhou Conference Updates
Two LAC meetings were held at the School of Management, Zhejiang University on March 15 and July 1 respectively. The key issues like the conference hotel, sponsoring schools, sponsorship invitation and the conference program, paper acceptance plan were discussed and agreed on. Six to seven key panels are being planned for the conference (conference theme, strategy, OB, China Forum, Deans Forum, Executive Forum, etc.) and the panel chairs have been invited and confirmed.

Up to now, Zhejiang U. of Technology, Zhejiang U. of Finance & Economics, Zhejiang Gongshang U., Zhejiang Sci-Tech U., Ningbo U., Ningbo Institute of Technology and Hangzhou Dianzi U. have joined the LAC and will be working with Zhejiang U. in the course of preparations.

Report on IACMR Events at 2015 AOM
Every year, IACMR takes the opportunity of scholars gathering at the AOM annual meeting to hold the IACMR Board meeting, business meeting and a reception. This year saw the events held as usual and added with a memorial service for Prof. Kwok Leung who passed away on May 25. 1. Table of Contents of MOR June Issue (Volume 11, Issue 2)

- Submissions are up 25% so far in 2015
- Starting in 2014 time to publication has decreased from 2 years to 12–18 months (from submission to online publication)
- Desk reject rate (2014): 33%
- Acceptance rate (2014): 10%
- Average days under review – 79 days

3. MOR Research Frontiers Conference
The second conference will be held in October 2016 and focus on an area that nobody has explored systematically, ‘Ecology of SMEs, Knowledge Creation, Innovation and Economic Growth in Context of Transforming Economies’. As output of the conference, one or two MOR Special Issues and a CUP edited book are expected.

Memorial Service for Kwok Leung and ‘Kwok Leung Memorial Dissertation Support Fund’
A memorial service to remember and honor Kwok Leung was held at the AOM conference site at 4:00-5:00 pm on Aug. 9. Over 100 scholars attended the service. Kwok’s wife, Yumi Inoue, recalled her memories of Kwok, followed by a video of Kwok's photos from their family album. Professors Jia Lin Xie, Xiaoping Chen, Arie Lewin, Ying-yi Hong, Chao C. Chen and Michael Morris recalled their past contacts and interactions with Kwok. For photos and speech scripts, please click here.

At the end of the service, Prof. Ray Friedman, MC of the memorial service, announced the establishment of Kwok Leung Memorial Dissertation Support Fund to 'preserve our memory of Kwok by continuing his efforts to support young scholars, in his name'.

Kwok Leung Memorial Dissertation Grant:
Goal: a RMB fund of 1 million yuan, providing 50,000 yuan/year in support to doctoral student; already raised 650,000 yuan.

Anne Tsui Received AOM Distinguished Service Award
Prof. Anne Tsui, Founding President of IACMR, received another major award recently. She was presented the Distinguished Service Award during the Presidential Address and Career Awards session at the 75th AOM annual meeting in Vancouver on Aug. 9. For details, please click here.
