School of Management

The mission of theSchoolofManagementis to deliver in global context innovative, management education, and applied research connected to management science and business administration. The School is comprised of five teaching and research departments, including Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, Management Science and Engineering, and Information Management, and delivering a broad range of programs at Professional, Bachelor, Masters, and PhD levels.

As a research-focused School, the School of Management currently has 80 academic staff, 10 research groups, and 4 research institutes. Over 100 research projects are sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Social Science Foundation of China, the National Aviation Foundation and, the Project 863. The School has become one of the most important education and research centers for management study inChina.

The School continues to grow rapidly, particularly in the development of international collaboration. It is now a founder of the Alliance of Chinese & European Business Schools and a member of European Foundation for Management Development. Position Summary

The successful appointee will be expected to undertake scholarly research, both individually and as a team; to engage in the supervision of master’s and doctoral candidates; to make contribution to the teaching effort of the School; and to provide leadership in the management disciplines within the School, University and the wider community.

Key Selection Criteria


§   A PhD degree in Management disciplines (Management Science and Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration, Accounting, Information Management or closely related fields) from an accredited institution;

§   Ability to undertake quality research in the area of specialization including a significant record of refereed publication in premier international journals (Professor/Associate Professor);

§   Ability to undertake quality research in the area of specialization including an emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs which will contribute to existing School research areas evidenced by publications or new research initiatives (Assistant Professor);

§   The commitment and potential to undertake independent research and professional work;

§   Demonstrated ability to plan and teach both graduate and undergraduate subjects in Management disciplines;

§   Demonstrated ability to provide high quality supervision for graduate students;

§   Ability to attract funds from research grants, industry funding, and other sources;

§   Proven excellent interpersonal, communication, and administration skills.


§   Up to 1 year work experience at prestigious university or research institution;

§   Demonstrated leadership and service to relevant domestic and international academic associations, journals, and professional bodies.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and related activities:

§   Contribute to the excellence of teaching in undergraduate and graduate coursework programs through the conduct of lectures, seminars, workshops, consultation, etc. as required by the degree program;

§   Supervision of major senior undergraduate and postgraduate projects;

§   Initiation and development of subject material;

§   Engagement in public and professional education.


§   Ensure ongoing success in research and in gaining competitive research grants (e.g., National Natural Science Foundation);

§   Participate in the research activities (e.g., seminars, workshops) of the School;

§   Pursue excellence in research leading to publication in top tier journals and fostering social impact.

Management and service:

§   Provide service to the University and the School through membership of committees or academic board;

§   Assist in the School’s coordination and administrative functions;

§   Attendance at School meetings and events as required.

The Benefits

§   The University offers a base salary for a full-time position from 190,000 to 290,000 CNY per year;

§   TheSchoolofManagementoffers a further bonus based on the end-of-year performance, including teaching activities, research grants, publications, and additional academic duties;

§   The compensation package (salaries, bonuses, and other fringe benefits) is commensurate with qualification, age, track record, and experience, but still negotiable for applicants with strong research achievement and teaching capability;

§   The University will provide a one-time settling-in allowance (40,000 – 100,000 CNY), and research initiative funds (80,000 – 100,000 CNY);
